CHRISTINA AGUILERA – Burlesque never sounded so good! Love music? You should LOVE this music!

“It takes a legend to make a star” with that sentence they just caught our attention at first, then we found out that Christina Aguilera was on it, and we were interested, but when we got to listen to the soundtrack of the movie, we knew we had to see Burlesque.

Burlesque marks the debut of Christina Aguilera as lead character and oh boy, she nailed the part, because really, who sings better than her nowadays? Either if you are not part of Christina Aguielera’s fans you should definitely check this movie just because the music is amazing… and you would ask.. then why don’t I hear the soundtrack then? But… the dancing on this movie is worth watching, believe us…

Burlesque has been nominated for a lot of awards, among those, it has won Best Motion Picture in the Globe Awards and Best Song at the Critics’ Choice Awards for You Haven’t Seen The Last Of Me by Cher. (This song is at the end of the post...) So… if you haven’t seen Burlesque (WTF are you waiting for, eh? Really… ). Here are some of the songs that we really like from Burlesque… And congrats to Christina on this one!

CHRISTINA AGUILERA – Bionic may have failed on the market, but it has a lot of plays on my iTunes!!!

Back in 2010 when we found out that Christina Aguilera was gonna release her sixth studio album in June, we were kinda excited, because we really have love for her, her voice is just beyond words and we like her ability to change as an artist every time she begins a new project.

When June came, we got Bionic and we were blown away by it, it’s one of our favorite CDs on our library, but it shocked us how she failed at the market. I mean, she even made history in the UK for the biggest drop in chart history over there! But still… we love almost every song on the record, some people blamed her for copying other artists (Gaga, Madonna, Katy Perry… and the list goes on) and maybe she did (gotta accept it) but still, her material was quite good.

At this moment, Bionic promotion is finished and they’re no longer gonna release songs from this album (blame the commercial failure on this one), but we’ll be waiting for Christina to release some new material that make people remember that she was there before and she deserves to be here today.

If you haven’t heard Bionic for all the bad press that it received, then you’ve lost some amazing songs, I recommend you to check it out and just decide by yourself (you’ll love the songs). Here are those songs we really liked from ChristinaAguilera’s Bionic:

T.I. – When pop and hip-hop collide

It’s been a while since we’ve heard a major hit from hip-hop rapper T.I., I mean, his duets with Rihanna (Live Your Life) and Justin Timberlake (Dead And Gone) were good but it’s been two years from the most recent one and I've really wanted to hear some good music collaborations recently. Of course Kanye West, Jay-Z and Nicki Minaj had made my wish come true, but I’ve also have some love for pop singer diva Christina Aguilera (some may say: So what? But I have a point I swear!) who just recently did a duet with T.I. (see, I told ya!). This incredible collaboration is called Castle Walls and as always, it makes Aguilera’s voice stand out quite good.

About  T.I., he’s relased recently his seventh album No Mercy which is in stores since December 7th, and I still haven't heard the whole album but I really hope it has some good tracks because let’s say that T.I. has not been on my recent playlists. Up to now, we only have the song, but let’s cross our fingers in the hope that his record label releases a video that does justice for Castle Walls, which will be his second single (smart choice, since it would redeem Aguilera’s career and it would be a great hit for T.I.). Here’s the song:

MIA – You want me XXXO

Mathangi “Maya” Arulpragasam, better known as M.I.A..,  released her third studio album in July 2010 and it’s called /\/\/\Y/\ (Maya, like her name!). This album has a lot of industrial sounds, it has guitars, it has like a rock electronic element inherent in it. Maybe that’s the reason why this year M.I.A. was a source of money for the media since she was constantly ditching female artist Lady Gaga saying that she copied a lot of her previous sounds, but that’s part of the past now, because The Fame Monster was declared today the most selled album of 2010 while /\/\/\Y/\ sales weren’t a huge deal, it seams that the Bionic effect hit M.I.A. because some of the songs that it contains are incredibly good like XXXO, Teqkilla, Steppin Up and others.

Another thing that's important (in my mind i think) is the fact that M.I.A. is always criticizing the industry, and the cover of this album was no exception (youtube bars!).

Until now, M.I.A. has released 6 singles in an attempt of making some publicity for her not-so-big-of-a-seller album but the one that we like the most is XXXO, so here’s the video (tumbs of for the double sense of the chorus).

RIHANNA - Who's that chick?? The only girl in the world? Huh?

This post is dedicated to one of the few people that were happy when GaGa took the Moonman for Video of the year.. her name is... Rihanna!! (No kidding.. Just check the pic at the end of the post...).

As we all know, RiRi is launching her brand new album, titled "Loud" and according to her, its essence will be more up-tempo, just like "Good Girl Gone Bad" and less like "Rated R". Talking about this, I really don't know why "Rated R" didn't quite make it in the market.. because I truly believe it's an amazing record, but who knows? At least it didn't failed as bad as Christina Aguilera's "Bionic" did.. (ups..), but I really like both albums you know??
So.. back with RiRi.. last week she released "Only Girl In The World" which made us believe that it would be her next single, but just this week she released an official video for "Who's That Chick (ft. David Guetta)" so, who knows?? The good thing is that both songs are amazing.. so, just enjoy..

And.. seems I'm unable to add the official video.. here's the song..

And.. as promised.. check the faces of Rihanna, Katy, Ke$ha and even Justin Bieber when they heard the news about the award that GaGa won (yes, when she was wearing the Meat Dress)...
thanks to http://lacasadegaga.blogspot.com/ for the pic... and yes, Ke$ha is not wearing her shoes in the pic..

CHRISTINA AGUILERA - I am done.. smoking gun.. we lost it all.. you lost me

Here comes a song that I had mentioned you before "You Lost Me" by Christina Aguilera (remember? you don't?? anyways..), i told you about this song when she premiered it at the finale of American Idol (to check that CLICK HERE ), and well, i guess the important people from her record label found out that we loved the song and now she's releasing it as a single (good choice!). What happens with this song is that it reminds us that there are true singers out there that have amazing real voices and that not everything is auto-tune (right T-Pain??) and well, when you get to watch the official video for the song (at the end of the post) you'll see how much does Christina believes what she's singing, i even got to a point where i could almost feel her pain (that's normal right?) and remembered so many things (good times.. and bad ones too), anyways.. she's a great singer, that really knows how to transmit her emotions through voice and image. Although at this moment her new album (Bionic) isn't having a great sales period, i think her new material is really good, so just give her a chance and listen to what she's offering.. Here's the video for "You Lost Me" (get a tissue handy.. you'll need it)

And here's her song "Bionic" from the album with the same name.. i really think this one also has a chance as a single, what do you think?

AMERICAN IDOL - The end of the show? At least of their ratings...

So, a couple of days ago was American Idol's finale and it was very... emotional. We all got to know the sad news about Simon Cowell's departure from the show, and finally knew who the winner was... and i can't remember his name (i have to admit that i didn't thought the contestants of this season were good enough for me to remember their names, so... what can i say?), the point is that he won over the girl and now both have a album contract, so... good for them!

One of the artists involved was Christina Aguilera. The contestants of the show gave a rendition of some of her number one singles like "Fighter", "Beautiful" and some others. When the time was right, Christina came on-stage, she brought her soul with her and delivered an outstanding performance of one of her songs from "Bionic" (her upcoming album) titled "You Lost Me" which i really hope becomes her next single, because it's really good and just shows us once again her out-of-this-world voice, it could be her new "Beautiful" seriously!

Christina Aguilera American Idol Finale

Honestly i've never been into Bret Michaels music, but all i know is that he was a member of Poison, a rock band from the 80's (i think...). Anyways, i've always liked one song from him "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" and surprisingly he appeared at American Idol and sang it with one of the almost-finalists from this season "Casey" (the guy with who Kara DioGuardi cheated her husband... at least in her mind) Wonder why he didn't make it to the finale?

And the history that really brought the ratings this time! Simon Cowell is leaving American Idol. We all must admit the fact that without him, the show won't be the same, honestly most of us only watched to see how he tortured the contestants (it wasn't only me right?), but apparently he's making a project in her own something like the X-Factor but here in America, so, i'll sure be watching that (and when the time comes, it will overshadow American Idol so... hope it comes soon!). Here are the winners of every season and some other contestants singing for Cowell for the last time and his good-bye speech...

CHRISTINA AGUILERA - Someone call the doctor 'cause she lost her mind

After a long period of silence, finally Christina Aguilera opens her mouth again and... it's so good. Even thought there are some similarities with Lady Gaga (and Madonna, Rihanna, Fergie, Beyoncé... and the list goes on), we most admit that she has an amazing voice and she knows how to use it, aswell as her ability to know what's hot right now and just re-invent herself (that's how she calls copy, in case you didn't knew).

Here's the video for her first single of her new album "Bionic", it's called "Not Myself Tonight" and... she's definitely not herself right there. Haven't you thought what would it be to be a celebrity and do things like that (watch the official video) and then that your children watch it years later? Awkward... Well, hope she knows how to confront her son in a few years...
